I have been conscious of the health benefits of proper diet and exercise for most of my life. My training and dedication to wholesome living culminated with my desire to further my knowledge of holistic healing. After years of studying the benefits of natural remedies, including herbal medicines and essential oils, I felt that the physical realm of healing was my natural next step. After raising three kids and working hard to put them through school, I found my body tense and my overall well-being had diminished. I started receiving regular massages from a licensed friend of mine, and almost immediately began to feel the change in my energy and general health. It seemed a natural choice for me to take a grasp of the physical realm of healing by learning more about the science and art of massage. I enrolled at North Georgia Technical College in pursuit of a license to practice massage. I chose this school due to its smaller class sizes and the individual training that was available. Since graduating, I have opened my own massage studio, Sacred Mountain Bodyworks, which offers massage, a far-infrared sauna, cosmetic waxing, laser and natural skin therapy, and holistic healing and beauty products. I have focused my continuing education in the area of orthopedic massage with James Waslaski, massage cupping, and other disciplines aimed at ridding the body of toxins in order to promote healing.
