Lara is a Therapeutic Manual & Movement Therapist. Practicing Myofascial Release (Advanced JFB-MFR) since 2011, CST since 2015, and integrating many related manual therapy & movement modalities over the years, she continues to deepen her knowledge and understanding of the healing journey. With no intention of stopping this fabulous learning path, she continues to explore the body’s healing potential with an East-meets-West approach.
Lara Weithorn’s fascination with fascia began 30 years ago. After two decades of sports injuries and years of pain, she had an "ah-ha" moment! All those times she fell off her horses, skis, snowboard, and mountain bike, were not incidental. With muscles of concrete, that no doctor could explain, Myofascial Release was the first relief she’d had in years!
With a background in Structural bodywork since 2006, she found her specialty in the profoundly effective fascial-structural therapy of Myofascial Release. She's taken more than 2000 hours in Craniosacral (BCST & Upledger), Visceral Manipulation, DermoNeuroModualtion, NeuroKinetic Therapy, Energy Medicine, and Shamanism; Advanced Movement Training, Dynamic NeuroMuscular Stabilization (DNS); Yoga & Yoga Tune Up® teacher training; along with anatomy, exercise physiology, kinesiology, injury evaluation, and related coursework at UCLA Extension, which she blends with her love of movement (any way a body can!), for a whole mind-body approach to healing and moving through life.
