Janae Kerr was born and raised in Sterling, CO.  She was a dental assistant for 12 years.  Back in 2009 when the economy had its downturn, the dentist was seeing a lot of clients for clenching and grinding and stress related teeth issues.  He would refer the patients out for a massage.  That inspired her to get her license to practice massage therapy.  She worked as a dental assistant during the day and took night classes.  She graduated from Healing Arts Institute in Fort Collins, CO in June 2012.  She decided make a change and leave the dental field.  She moved home to Sterling, where she practiced out of her house for the first 5 years of her massage career.  She decided it was time to expand her career and move her practice out of her house.  In April 2018 she bought Back in Balance and changed the name to Genesis Massage and Spa.  She loves the atmosphere and clients and being able to aid in one’s health and healing.
