Why did I become a massage therapist?

Back in 2002, my girlfriend at the time was suffering with chronic daily headaches and migraines ever since high school. I remember the first time I had to call her parents to let them know I was taking her to the emergency room after she maxed out all of her migraine meds and was still in a lot of pain. Her typical day was using a lot of ice packs on the back of the neck, sleeping all day in a dark room with absolute silence, and a mix of crying and throwing up. Needless to say we were on search for an answer. At that time I was working in a body shop fixing cars. After getting married and several years later I became a massage therapist because I found how beneficial massage was in the treatment of headaches and many other areas of the body. With massage, Reiki, and a dietary change her headaches decreased to just once per month and was very manageable.

I only wish I knew back then what I know now. With the passion and drive to find a solution to any problem, I thrive when I’m working with others helping them work through their pain.

Goals: My goal for you during and after our sessions is to become more body aware. If you are aware of the small signs your body is telling you then you can take the actions to self-manage and get help quicker, therefore having less symptoms and pain.
