I am a graduate of the Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy, Clinical Program, a school with an outstanding record of producing quality therapists. I have additional certification in Myofascial Release. I am a Certified Equine Massage Therapist from Bancroft School of Massage Therapy. Currently, I am adding to my knowledge as I work with Performance Physical Therapy as one of their Massage Therapists. One of the great benefits of working with Performance, is providing massage for their sports and medical rehabilitation patients, aiding athletes, students and individuals in their return to the sport or careers of their choice.
I love my career as a Licensed Massage Therapist. I know from experience, how important pain relief is for those who are seeking an answer to their pain. In my former career as a carpenter, I became well aware of how the pain of injury, repetitive motion and cumulative injury affects our daily lives. Through massage, chiropractic and physical therapy care, I have overcome the injuries that had reduced my ability to live as productively or effectively as I wanted.
As a parent, my desire has been to protect my family from long term sports, work or health issues. Seeking an effective answer to pain, stress and trauma related injuries, massage was the one career where my hands-on skills developed through my years in carpentry, fit naturally into the sensitivity needed to assess, manage and address the needs of the body. To sense the knots, adhesions, and tension of muscle requires a great sense of dexterity within your hands. Massage also requires an ability to recognize subtle differences in movement, posture and body structure, attributes which come naturally from my life experience, including riding and working with horses.
