And when you work with love you bind yourself to yourself, and to one another, and to God ~ Kahlil Gibran, The Prophet

I love the work...massage feeds my body and spirit like no other work I've done.  I get to be physical everyday in my work while bringing comfort and healing to so many people.  I couldn't ask for a more creative and inspiring job.

I love my clients...ranging in age 17-90 and in physical prowess and condition. Whether stressed, physically active, athletic, injured or suffering from chronic pain or illness I work on all bodies and for all needs. I feel honored that my clients put their trust in me; I respect each and every one who walks through my door.

I love what I do...from the moment I began studying massage in 2008 I knew I had found my passion. After years of working in the theatre then stumbling into massage I felt more alive and creative as a healing artist then as a performing artist. After years of studying the body as an instrument I was able to understand it on a whole new and exciting level as a massage therapist.  My creative side is completely fulfilled through the work as a therapist when I get to find what will suit each individuals need.  I adore being in business for myself and building personal relationships with my clients.  This work provides for me the perfect symbiotic relationship between creativity, body awareness, well being & spirituality.

I love massage...a client of mine once said "If everyone received a foot massage everyday there would be world peace!" I need not say more...

Student of Alexander Technique

The Alexander Technique is a way of learning to move mindfully through life. The Alexander process shines a light on inefficient habits of movement and patterns of accumulated tension, which interferes with our innate ability to move easily and according to how we are designed. It’s a simple yet powerful approach that offers the opportunity to take charge of one’s own learning and healing process, because it’s not a series of passive treatments but an active exploration that changes the way one thinks and responds in activity. It produces a skill set that can be applied in every situation. Lessons leave one feeling lighter, freer, and more grounded.

Student of the Feldenkrais Method

The Feldenkrais Method® is a form of somatic education that uses gentle movement and directed attention to improve movement and enhance human functioning. Through this Method, you can increase your ease and range of motion, improve your flexibility and coordination, and rediscover your innate capacity for graceful, efficient movement. These improvements will often generalize to enhance functioning in other aspects of your life. The Feldenkrais Method is based on principles of physics, biomechanics and an empirical understanding of learning and human development. By expanding the self-image through movement sequences that bring attention to the parts of the self that are out of awareness, the Method enables you to include more of yourself in your functioning movements. Students become more aware of their habitual neuromuscular patterns and rigidities and expand options for new ways of moving. By increasing sensitivity the Feldenkrais Method assists you to live your life more fully, efficiently and comfortably.

Student of Healing Touch - Levels 1 & 2

Healing Touch is an energy therapy in which practitioners consciously use their hands in a heart-centered and intentional way to support and facilitate physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health. Healing Touch is a biofield (magnetic field around the body) therapy that is an energy-based approach to health and healing. Healing Touch uses the gift of touch to influence the human energy system, specifically the energy field that surrounds the body, and the energy centers that control the flow from the energy field to the physical body. These non-invasive techniques employ the hands to clear, energize, and balance the human and environmental energy fields, thus affecting physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health. It is based on a heart-centered, caring relationship in which the practitioner and client come together energetically to facilitate the client's health and healing. The goal of Healing Touch is to restore balance and harmonies in the energy system, placing the client in a position to self heal.

Yoga

Student of Kundalini Yoga

Kundalini yoga derives its name through a focus on awakening kundalini energy through regular practice of meditation, pranayama, chanting mantra and yoga asana. Called by practitioners "the yoga of awareness", it aims "to cultivate the creative spiritual potential of a human to uphold values, speak truth, and focus on the compassion and consciousness needed to serve and heal others."

Gentle music - pleasant smells - low lighting - a welcoming environment - quietness - responsive to conversation but quietness is peaceful and refreshing. Ruth's massage techniques are invigorating, varied according to my needs, and therapeutic. Aches and pains disappear over time. I highly recommend a regular massage in order to have those therapeutic benefits.

the music; the care
by Chris on Feb 26
Ruth is strong and perceptive. She seems to respond to where my body is tight and in distress and pain. I often experience more actual bone and spinal adjustments than I have ever had working with a chiropractor.
by Annette on Feb 20
Ruth is a skilled and compassionate professional. She has helped me over the years with chronic pain. I highly recommend her.
