Melissa was first introduced to the physical benefits of massage during her time playing sports. Suffering from anxiety, it didn’t take long for her to learn of the mental benefits as well. After many years of working jobs she wasn’t passionate about, Melissa decided to attend the Healing Arts Center to help people like she had been. Melissa graduated in the fall of 2015.

Melissa was first introduced to the physical benefits of massage during her time playing sports. Suffering from anxiety, it didn’t take long for her to learn of the mental benefits as well. After many years of working jobs she wasn’t passionate about, Melissa decided to attend the Healing Arts Center to help people like she had been. Melissa graduated in the fall of 2015. 


Not long after starting her massage career, Melissa realized how taxing this work was going to be on her body. That is when she was introduced to barefoot massage. She studied Thai Massage followed by Ashiatsu and in the spring of 2017 made the switch to only barefoot work. Melissa believes that in order to help a client’s full body, it only makes sense for her to use her full body.

I have been getting massage therapy from Melissa for over five years, starting after I had spinal surgery for severe sciatica. Melissa is very attentive to therapeutic needs of the present, and gives great advice on exercises to do to help my condition. I get 120 min sessions at least twice a month and they keep me going despite severe spinal stenosis.

I'm convinced Melissa has magic powers. I regularly show up, beat down by work, parenthood, and a crazy busy life - and she goes out of her way to make me feel welcomed and relaxed. I leave feeling refreshed, and considerably less stressed. I genuinely look forward to my time here, it's so peaceful - and becoming kind of sacred in my schedule. A++ experience every visit.
