Abba grew up in Branson, Missouri, graduated from Branson High School in 1980, and from Journalism School at Mizzou in 1984. She received an MA in Creative Writing from Sonoma State University in 2000. Before acupuncture took over her life, she had a career in journalism and public relations. For fun, she likes walking in nature, lazy kayaking, writing with a buddy at the Mudhouse, and seeing movies at the Moxie.
