Peter Shin

CMT, CLT, NCTMB

In 1987 in South Korea, Peter began his journey learning Asian bodywork techniques of acupressure, moxibustion, and cupping.  His motivation was out of necessity - in order to relieve his wife of debilitating pain in her lower back.  Today, as a result of his efforts and learning she is good in health and they are a wonderful family, with two children. 

Several years ago, while working as an Activity Coordinator at a Senior Health Day Care Center, he realized that he should pursue massage school training towards licensure. Upon completion of his training Peter became Nationally Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCTMB) as well as a Certified Lymphedema Therapist and Massage Therapist (CMT) in Virginia.  He has been dedicating himself to this practice ever since.

Though he performs massage in several modalities, his special focuses are in deep tissue massage, acupressure, moxibustion, cupping, reflexology,  Swedish gymnastics (Sport Massage) and Lymphedema Therapy and so on .

From his experience, Peter believes that to receive massage regularly is one of our best investments we can make in our health. Over the years as Peter has studied and learned much of human anatomy, physiology and pathology, his respect for the human body as a mystifying concept has only strengthened his drive and passion for continual learning of its functions and structures.

Peter feels that watching over and serving others is his calling.  Though he is still learning and studying Traditional oriental medicine in order to help and care for others, he is diligent, reliable, well-organized, detail-oriented, and both sociable and humorous with just about everyone. Additionally, Peter loves and enjoys his hobby of singing.
