The Massage Way --- Your Path to Wellness

   I needed to make a new career choice a few years ago.  I chose massage therapy.  Over time I had changed my perception of massage from a once-a year birthday treat to a vital part of my recovery from car accidents, illness, and stress.  I wanted to be able to touch people who were hurting and know that I could help them.

   I needed to make a new career choice a few years ago.  I chose massage therapy.  Over time I had changed my perception of massage from a once-a year birthday treat to a vital part of my recovery from car accidents, illness, and stress.  I wanted to be able to touch people who were hurting and know that I could help them.    

   Colorado School of Healing Arts in Lakewood CO was my school of choice.  I completed my 700 hour program in 2010 and started my own practice, The Massage Way, soon after.  In 2015 I earned my Associates of Occupational Studies. I
   I offer my clients Swedish, relaxation, Lymph Drainage Massage, Reflexology, Trauma Touch,  Stone Massage, aromatherapy, Healing touch energy work, Cranial,  and more.  One of my favorites is to combine Reflexology and Lymph Drainage massage for a relaxing and immune boosting session. This combination has provided immediate migraine relief in some cases, and has been successful in helping chronic and severely tightened muscles.  A great alternative to deep tissue massage.  Most massage sessions will include more than one type of massage, depending on the client's needs.  
    Each client is different and their pathway to healing will be different.  Include massage techniques in your wellness program.  
 After working in Bailey and Littleton in Colorado for 5 years, I have now been in Spearfish South Dakota for nearly 8 years.  I am here because I love the Black Hills.  South Dakota is my home state and I am closer to family here.

I do massage for residents in a local long term care center, although that status is temporarily on hold due to Covid-19.   You may also see me at Akela Spa as I am on call there.

Reflexology

Received 240 hours in Reflexology course work at Colorado School of Heaing Arts. This is part of my Associates of Occupational Studies. This work included live lectures, demos, hands on learning with teacher, teacher aids who had already taken this course, and fellow students. Required labs and required case studies were included. Learning both the science and art of Reflexology, and see it work on case studies when a client has 5 or 10 sessions with detailed observation notes and client self observations recorded was so valuable. I loved this course!

Lymph Drainage Massage

Certified in LDM as part of my Associates of Occupational Studies with 3 courses and 110 hours. 3 Lymph Drainage Courses taught us the anatomy and function of the Lymph System, contraindications, and how to activate the Lymph vessels. The health benefits of receiving Lymph Drainage are numerous.
