500 Hour Professional Massage Training Program
Business Management/Marketing B.S.
I graduated from the Baltimore School of Massage in 1999, and passed the National Certification exam shortly thereafter (NCTMB), becoming a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) ready to share my passion for bodywork and wellness with others. Prior to being trained in massage therapy, I was a busy corporate Account Executive who sought out the soothing effects of massage therapy to help me deal with long hours and stressful deadlines. The effects of treatment were so profound for me that I was determined to share this work with others. I enrolled at the Baltimore School of massage and never looked back. My basic training at the Baltimore School of Massage consisted of education in Swedish, Deep Tissue and Myofascial Release. Over the years I have studied Acupressure, Reflexology, Sports massage, Active Isolated Stretching, Facilitated Stretching, Trigger Point Therapy, Medical Massage, Orthopedic Massage, Massage for Chronic Pain Conditions, Massage for the Breast Cancer Patient, Ortho-Bionomy, Cranial-Sacral Therapy, and Reiki. Additionally I have had training in classes specific to conditions of the neck, back, shoulder girdle, upper and lower extremities and hips. My philosophy about massage therapy and my treatment protocol is this: I treat the individual. We will discuss your needs, likes, dislikes and will devise a course of treatment uniquely suited for you. I encourage communication about what pressure feels right to you so we can get you the optimal results in our session. I charge only for the time I spend hands on with you, regardless of the forms of treatment and massage being used. I invite you to come in to explore how I can help you get in touch with your mind and body, and allow me to help you facilitate restoring your health and well-being.
