I am excited to be offering Neuromuscular Massage Therapy at Core Pilates in Sausalito. This anatomically specific, focused approach to bodywork is helpful for athletes in achieving their performance goals. It is also of great benefit in healing from injury and is utilized in pain management (when the pain is of muscular origin). I employ assessment techniques to rule out serious conditions which may require the attention of a physician and also to guide my work. I use Trigger Point Therapy, based on the work of Janet Travell MD who pioneered an understanding of myofascial pain and dysfunction. I also use Swedish, Deep Tissue, Shiatsu and energy work as appropriate depending on the client's needs and preferences. I can work through clothing, or directly on the skin according to the client's comfort and preference. I can also provide lighter touch techniques appropriate for clients who may be living with disease such as cancer or MS.

Please don't hesitate to contact me if you are not sure if massage therapy is appropriate to help you meet your wellness or fitness goals.

Ayurveda

I had the experience of working in an Ayurvedic clinic with an Ayurvedic doctor and an MD - this was a wonderful education in the integration of the biomedical model with a holistic model. Clients received whatever modern medical treatment was indicated, as well as prescribed diet, yoga, meditation, massage, herbal remedies and lifestyle recommendations.

Instructor

Since 2007 I have been an instructor at National Holistic Institute, a College of Massage Therapy with several campuses in California.
