My goal is to relieve your pain, inflammation, tension, or numbness. I do this by doing several things. I use my extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology to assess what muscular dysfunction is causing your issue. Then I combine parts of several different massage modalities that specifically address the neurological connection between the brain and the muscles and the other soft tissues. This process can increase range is motion, functionality, and strength as well as correct posture. This process requires a lot of consideration of what the cause of the issue is. If it’s a muscle I have to know where it attaches, what direction the muscle fibers run, what the job of that muscle is, what muscles work with that muscle, what muscle do the opposite job of it and where those muscles attach and which direction their fibers run. This therapy requires a very focused approach that take on one problem at a time. It’s not just “rubbing” the sore spot over and over again, it is true therapy. I also suggest subtle changes in daily life and stretching on your own to increase results. By doing this I am able to get faster and longer lasting results that your typical spa massage therapist.
