Maggie Lang, Certified Massage Therapist, has been practicing bodywork for over 12 years.
Originally
trained at Santa Barbara Bodyworks, Maggie's education also includes
many hours at The Santa Barbara Body Therapy Institute, San Francisco
School of Massage and Ojai School of Massage. Her method is influenced
by an ongoing exploration of the physical body and the human condition.
In terms of massage or “manual” therapy her work focuses on relaxation,
mind-body integration, increased range of motion and self-awareness.
With an emphasis on proper breathing, alignment and supporting the ease
of movement between the layers of tissue in the body, Maggie hopes to
increase the quality of life of anyone who lands her table!
She trained at YogaWorks in Los Angeles, The White Lotus Foundation in Santa Barbara and The Chicago Yoga Center to instruct Therapeutic and Yin Yoga. Maggie takes long walks daily and has been practicing Pilates regularly since 2013.
Human
beings live every moment of life through the body and that experience
takes place primarily via the central nervous system. Thoughts, words
and actions permeate the entire body, so mindful awareness is an
integral part of Maggie's approach to bodywork, movement and life in
general. She is highly influenced by the work of Kelly McGonigal Ph.D., Kristin Neff, Dr. Rick Hanson, Tara Brach, Dan Siegel, M.D., Jill Miller, Thomas Myers, and many others!
