After his childhood in rural Pennsylvania, many twists and turns have brought Marshall Beichner to San Francisco and to the field of massage therapy. After a career in the beverage industry, Marshall was led to the field of bodywork via his own personal experience of massage. As an avid trail runner and a bartender, he began to schedule regular bodywork in order to alleviate the bodily stress from those two specific areas of his life. To his surprise, he discovered that massage can do much more than relieve tight muscles or lessen pain; it was also a way to “reconnect to the body,” or to promote the mind-body connection.

     The next stage of his journey began when Marshall left San Francisco to travel the Americas. After a ten-week adventure through Colombia, Ecuador and Peru, he traveled across the United States from the west coast to the east coast. Then he traveled solo on his motorcycle from Pennsylvania back to California, searching for a massage school while camping at state parks along the way. This extended quest eventually returned to San Francisco where he received his training as a certified massage therapist at the San Francisco School of Massage & Bodywork.

     In addition to massage and bodywork, Marshall’s other interests include nutrition, cooking, language, the brain, music, NPR, running local trails, and riding his motorcycle.
