Hello, my name is Ben. I am a professional pain and movement/massage therapist. Helping people through bodily pain, dysfunction, and tension has been a lifelong passion of mine and I feel extremely fortunate to be able to offer bodywork professionally.
My exposure to bodywork began with my mother, who, after a lifelong struggle with a neck injury, constantly treated her son to a variety of manual therapy in hopes that he would never have to cope with chronic, debilitating pain. Visits to chiropractors, Rolfers, neuromuscular therapists, acupuncturists and the like were a theme, and they shaped my beliefs early on about the healing power of soft tissue manipulation, intelligent human touch, and movement. During my late teenage years and early 20s as a competitive distance racer and ultra marathoner, I found self massage to be by far the the most efficacious method for maintaining the functionality of my own tissues and I was amazed at how quickly and completely I could help my teammates resolve debilitating pain through massage. After graduating from Willamette University and earning a Liberal Arts degree, I studied at the Mckinnon Body Therapy Center with some of the most skilled therapists in the Bay Area. I went on to receive a certification in Advanced Neurokinetic Therapy (NKT) and Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA).
