I have been a licensed massage therapist, Holistic Health Practitioner and a Reiki Practitioner since 2011. Graduated from Mueller College and have since accumulated over 4000 hours of massage practice working with chiropractic clients, professional athletes and with acute injuries. After evaluating each client’s individual structure, I create a structured protocol to address muscular and fascia impingement in order to create space within the body to help release acute and chronic pain. A typical therapeutic session with me will include a structural analysis, myofascial-release and a site-specific treatment.

Deep Tissue

Deep tissue massage is designed to relieve pain and muscle tension throughout the body. This type of massage is extremely beneficial because it reaches the deepest layer of muscles, fascia (connective tissue surrounding the joints) and tendons. The goal in deep tissue massage is to breakdown adhesions (tense areas within the muscle). Adhesions in the muscle are very important to address because they cause pain, inflammation and limit motion of the muscles and joints. Benefits: Alleviate pain Recover from injuries (sports, traumatic, whiplash, falls, etc.) Increase mobility Decrease muscle tension Recover from repetitive stresses (sports, computer use, lifting, etc.) Improve Posture Relief from Osteoarthritis Relief from Fibromyalgia

Reflexology

reflexologyReflexology is an alternative treatment for a wide variety of conditions it helps stimulates nerve function, increases energy, boosts circulation, induces a deep state of relaxation, eliminates toxins, stimulates the central nervous system, prevents migraines, cleans up urinary tract conditions, speeds recovery after injury or surgery, helps relieve sleep disorders, reduces depression, and relieves pain. Furthermore, it can help ease the treatment of various cancers. Reflexology

Sports Massage

Sports massage therapy is geared toward athletes of every kind, from world-class professionals to weekend joggers. The particulars of the sports massage technique are specific to the athlete's sport of choice. Focusing on areas of the body that are overused and stressed from repetitive and often aggressive movements.

Swedish

Swedish massage therapy is the modality that comes to mind when most people think about massage. As the best-known type of bodywork performed today, one of the primary goals of the Swedish massage technique is to relax the entire body. This is accomplished by rubbing the muscles with long gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart. But Swedish massage therapy goes beyond relaxation. Swedish massage is exceptionally beneficial for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, decreasing muscle toxins, improving circulation and flexibility while easing tension.

Myofascial Release

Myofascial Release is a safe and very effective hands-on technique that involves applying gentle sustained pressure into the Myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion. This essential “time element” has to do with the viscous flow and the piezoelectric phenomenon: a low load (gentle pressure) applied slowly will allow a viscoelastic medium (fascia) to elongate. Trauma, inflammatory responses, and/or surgical procedures create Myofascial restrictions that can produce tensile pressures of approximately 2,000 pounds per square inch on pain sensitive structures.

cranial sacral

Cranial sacral therapy (also known as craniosacral therapy) is a gentle, noninvasive form of bodywork that addresses the bones of the head, spinal column and sacrum. The goal is to release compression in those areas which alleviates stress and pain. Cranial sacral therapy seeks to restore the natural position of the bones and can decrease stress from chronic injuries as well as provide relief from migraine headaches, neck and back pain, temporomandibular joint disorder (the inflammation of the joint that connects the lower jaw to the skull) and more.

Monica is one of THE best massage therapists in San Diego. HIGHLY RECOMMEND her - she has a thorough knowledge of the body and her technique was individualized to ME (not your “cookie-cutter” relaxation massage). She addressed my concerns and worked on issues that she found while giving me a full body massage (like my neck that a chiropractor had just told me the day before, had subluxation that I didn’t mention before the massage!) Perfect pressure - deep tissue where I had knots with pressure point release in some stubborn areas, and medium and soothing where my body just needed to relax and integrate itself. I “floated” away, very relaxed, with so much less tension than I arrived. Thinking about purchasing one of her discounted packages and already looking forward to my next visit which I’ll make for 90 minutes not just 1 hour. PS convenient location with good parking (I stopped at a great car wash around the corner on my way home)

She has the ability to find the root of the pain and she uses just the right amount of pressure. I’ve found it difficult in the past to get a massage where they are gentle yet strong. Monica is exactly that; gentle and strong simultaneously. Best massage I’ve ever had.
