My name is Siri and no, I am not the voice on your phone;) I am an energetic person who loves to move my body and because of this passion stumbled across Thai Yoga Bodywork during my 200 hour yoga training in 2012. I immediately fell in love with the modality, the importance of body mechanics to give the techniques as well as the focus on movement and stretching that Thai provides for the recipient. I studied with Tanya Boigenzahn, and over the course of two years of studying and practicing on bodies, I received my Registered Thai Therapist accreditation. I have also studied with the founder of the Thai Healing Alliance (THAI) Bob Haddad and travelled to Chiang Mai, Thailand to study with my teachers teacher, Pichest Boonthume. While studying in Thailand I learned more about my own body in relationship to others while giving that it has changed my approach during sessions. I encourage people to listen and breath deeply during each session to notice tensions and take ownership of your own healing. My favorite thing to tell clients is that I can give you the best bodywork treatment of my life, but if you're not breathing correctly it won't matter. I can give you the worst session and if you have correct, deep connected breath and awareness to your body, you will begin to change.
Thai Yoga Bodywork
I began studying Thai Bodywork with Tanya Boigenzahn. That led me to study with the creator of THAI (Thai Healing Alliance), Bob Haddad, which ultimately led me to their teacher in Chiang Mai, Thailand -- master Pichest Boonthumme. I have been working with clients for over four years. I've taught workshops for couples, worked one on one with couples who are looking to deepen their connection to each other and learn different techniques, and have also taught Intro to Thai Yoga Bodywork for professionals looking to expand their skill set.
I am a 500 hour Registered Yoga Teacher, and will periodically prescribe individualized yoga asanas, pranayamas, and meditations for those clients who are looking to continue their healing process in between sessions. This is a great way for clients to actively participate in their healing journey.
I have been practicing Reiki for over 3 years and regularly use it towards the end of each Thai Bodywork session. I find combining Reiki with Thai Bodywork is a great introduction to energy healing for those who have not experienced it. Clients find it extremely relaxing and aides to release any tensions that are still remaining.
