Cortney Alvarez, LMT, LLPC attended Delta College, and obtained her associates degree in small business management in 2005. Later that year, she attended Flint School of Therapeutic Massage and received her certificate in massage therapy. She has always enjoyed helping people, and educating people on how to help themselves. Massage therapy has been her niche for over 10 years now! She has worked mainly with clients who suffer from chronic pain conditions, and through this work has become very familiar with the mind and body connection. She decided to go back to school again and has received her Masters in clinical mental health counseling with a specialization in crisis and trauma. She plans to continue her work as a massage therapist because she really enjoys that work, but is including counseling into her practice. She has experience working with a variety of mental health issues but prefers to work with clients who have experienced trauma. In her free time, Cortney enjoys getting outside, camping, fishing, and bonfires! She enjoys watching NASCAR (GO DALE JR!!), painting, and sculpting.
