I came into body work late in life. After 28-years as an engineer the call to do something different awakened interests long forgotten. Integrating what I learned as an operating room technician while I was an undergraduate with the problem solving skills of engineering the fascinating world of bodywork opened up a whole new world for me.
I hold a patent for instrumentation that reads the subtle energy generated during energy healing. My PhD integrated physiology, psychology and electrical engineering....a blend that has only come into its own in recent years.
The work I provide incorporates elements of structural engineering, looking for the place where the body is aligned and free from undue stress. The techniques I use are based in current science related to physiology and facial research. Styles are integrated based on what the tissue needs to return to normal function; that may be a session with as many as six different approaches to bring the body back into alignment.
Beyond the hands on bodywork I read and work with the subtle energies. My training incorporates spiritual / shamanic approaches to bringing an individual back into balance. My training started with a Hawaiian Kahuna named David Kaonohiokala Bray (Daddy Bray) when I was in my early 20 s. Since that time I've studied with a number of healers and sages taking what works and applying it to my clients as needed.
I have over 2000 hours of accredited training:
Neuromuscular therapy - Paul St. John (therapist to Miami Dophins)
Medical Massage -- Dale Perry (therapist to US Olympic Swim Team, Seattle Sonics, Stanford swim and dive teams)
Lymphatic Drainage - Klose
Osteopathic approaches to treatment - URSA Foundation and Kinections
Craniosacral Therapy - Massage Therapy Institute - Davis CA
Rational Cranial Osteopathy - Fred Mitchell, DO
