Joseph Bret Owens, M.D., a Florida native with a family deeply rooted in healthcare, is a dedicated physician now based in Richmond Hill, Georgia. With a mother who was also a physician and other family members working in the healthcare field, Dr. Owens developed a passion for medicine early on. After traveling extensively and undertaking an Internal Medicine residency training in Michigan, he chose Richmond Hill as his home, where he is committed to providing exceptional healthcare. Emphasizing a proactive approach to medicine, Dr. Owens strives to prevent health issues before they arise, ensuring his patients receive the highest standard of care. Dr. Owens holds a Doctor of Medicine, a Master of Science in Health Services Administration, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He served as an Anatomy Teaching Assistant and was Awarded the Prosection Team Award for his skills in dissection and received a Certificate of Achievement in Immunology and Physiology from Harvard Medical School. Bret has also volunteered with the Sint Maarten AIDS Foundation, providing free HIV testing to residents. Outside of medicine, he enjoys coaching youth sports and spending time with his wife, Tracy and their three children.
