I was an odd child who found the human body fascinating. I would figure out where all the muscles started and ended.
So, my passion for bodywork started very early. I had no idea there was such a thing as massage therapy when I was 9, but I knew when my mom rubbed my tummy or knees, it made them feel better!
My real experience with massage began after having a severe neck injury from a bike accident when I was a teen. I had severe neck pain and migraines pretty much every day. Trying acupuncture, chiropractic, and pain meds with some relief. Then, a new doctor I was seeing suggested getting a massage. Let me tell you, I finally had hope that I might lead a somewhat normal life!
I then thought to myself, if I could do that for other people that would be great!
It took some time, but I finally went to massage school and graduated with honors. Have since taken several continued education courses including trigger point therapy, myofascial release, deep tissue therapy, reiki and several others.
I have treated many different ailments from headaches to foot pain successfully. I however, truly understand neck pain and have developed some techniques that are very helpful in the healing process.
Here I am, 17 years later, still loving what I do!
