I'm a 40 year old man in excellent physical shape. I suffered a stoke about three year ago and as a result have dystonia. This is a long term neurological condition that can affects some patients who have otherwise recovered from a cerebro-vascular accident. It is characterized by involuntary muscle contractions in my back and shoulders. If left unchecked it becomes extremely painful. Managing the symptoms requires daily strength training and a weekly deep tissue massage Alex, has been helpful with the latter. He's physically strong enough to relieve the tension in my erector sipinae.
