Emily Weir is a massage therapist and myomassologist who graduated from Irene’s Institute of Myomassology in 2020. Emily had been encouraged to massage therapy throughout her life by family and friends due to her natural aptitude for healing touch. She found an immense positive response when she would communicate with her hands; a comforting hug, a directive body cue, or a stress relieving shoulder squeeze. This somatic resonance was honed at Irene’s Institute for the therapeutic and relaxing benefits of massage. An important aspect of the body work Emily delivers is the energetic component. Before pursuing massage therapy, Emily studied comparative religions, spiritual paths, energetic healing and natural medicines from many cultures- and how these traditions intersected with western medicine. She found many points of intersection and commonality, and by working within this understanding Emily delivers a holistic massage therapy experience. The modalities she was trained in are Swedish style, Thai style, pre- and post- sports massage, myofascial release, lymphatic drainage, chair massage and dynamic stretching. Emily continues her education and training as an apprentice at Irene’s, where she also teaches incoming students. When Emily is not seeing clients, she likes to travel, camp, cook, and watch movies. She continues to develop her spiritual understanding through meditation, which is often accompanied by her pet cat.
