Empathic, lighter pressure massage allows the system to reach out and ask for assistance, direct the therapy, & find its way home to a true resting place.

I have been giving massages since I was 13 years old. I finally went to massage school at 37. I've been working as a professional Massage Therapist since 2007. I have been giving massages since I was 13 years old. I finally went to massage school at 37. I've been working as a professional Massage Therapist since 2007. And I have been employed with Massage Envy Southpoint for nearly 11 years. Healing through touch has been a part of my life for a long time!

My hands often know what to do before I can explain it! Way before proper training, I was drawn to Myo-Fascial levels in the muscle, to find the therapeutic solution my friends or family members needed. Learning Anatomy & Physiology, at Wake Tech Community College, filled in all the blanks about where my hands felt led to work. And Trigger-Point Release was the missing "tool" I had hunted for, to resolve the issues that couldn't let go with simpler touch and intention.

Since school I have pursued continuing education in Reiki (Levels I and II), Cranial Sacral Therapy, Pre-Natal Massage, Menopause/Wise Woman Massage, Oncology and Compassionate Touch techniques, and Fibromyalgia/CFS massage strategies. I incorporate all of these into my customized bodywork. I call my style "Muscle Dialogues", because I listen carefully to my clients self-report, feedback, and whatever the body has to add. Together we partner and brain-storm to find the greatest level of unraveling!

I wrote this in 2015, but it still applies today...
"You know your body best. Tell me what you need help with and I will listen. I use a gentle pressure to unwind stiff muscles, old patterns of holding (body armor), and overwhelmed nervous systems. If massage has left you bruised, sore, or sick afterward, your body was overstimulated and your needs were not heard. You should feel relieved and lighter afterward, and your body can continue the relaxing as you go out into your day. The lessening of pain, anxiety and tension should be our goal and outcome."
