Mandi Denning was born in Rexburg, ID and moved around with her family as her dad finished medical school and then was moved due to military assignments. The family relocated to Pullman, WA in 1997 and Mandi has mostly remained here since. In 2003, Mandi graduated from massage school and shortly after opened her own massage business which has continued to grow. She is married to Jason Denning and has two children. She is active in her community through volunteering for Pullman Regional Hospital Auxiliary’s Have-a-Heart fundraiser, chairing the Sunnyside Elementary PTO organized Career Day, as well as teaching Sunday school bimonthly, and until recently helped with weekly activities for young women at her church for over 3 years.

Mandi graduated with honors from the Massage Therapy program at Ashmead College of Massage’s Everett campus in November 2003. She passed the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) exam with “High” passing grade. Since her initial education in massage therapy and licensure, she has completed and exceeded Washington State and NCBTMB’s continuing education requirements including both hands-on and business classes. Her desire to soak in information related to many different areas of her profession has allowed her to gain insight and fueled her passion for educating the next generation of Massage professionals.

After graduating in late in 2003, Mandi opened her sole proprietorship, Healing Hands and operated out of a hair salon as a sole proprietor. She moved from Pullman, WA to Sacramento, CA for less than a year. In her time in Sacramento, Mandi worked as a massage therapist for a chiropractor. She then moved back to Pullman in 2008 and worked for a short time helping in a Physical Therapy practice and at a salon as an employee. At the same time she resumed her sole proprietorship and returned to a full-time patient load. Mandi has experienced many work situations for massage therapist and can educate future therapists of the pros and cons of each.
In March 2012, Healing Hands changed to Healing Hands Massage Clinic, LLC and in November 2012 started hiring employees. Now, Healing Hands Massage Clinic has 6 employees, 4 massage therapists and 2 staff. Mandi manages company finances, marketing, and staff. She also continues to evaluate and treat approximately 20 massage patients each week. The diversity of patient needs and related problem solving skills are part of what Mandi enjoys most about massage therapy; whether it be relaxation massage for stress relief, prenatal massage for expectant mothers, or treatment work for aches and pains.

Mandi organized the Palouse Massage Therapy Networking group in July 2014. She organizes and directs the bimonthly meetings and created a plan of action to host more local continuing education classes based on feedback from local therapists. She maintains frequent communications with local therapists about upcoming meetings and professional information through social media, AMTA-WA website, and email and actively participates in regional network leader trainings. She wants for all Massage Therapists to realize their role in the progression of the profession and the influence they can have, as a whole, in healthcare.
