Hello, I’m Willoughby, licensed massage therapist and board certified Structural Integrator. I own Upright Integration, a therapeutic bodywork practice. Informed from a structural integration perspective I provide therapeutic bodywork that emphasizes myofascial and neuromuscular techniques. Myofascial work primarily focuses on fascia, the connective tissue that encases all the structures of the body. Neuromuscular work focuses on the neurological connections between the brain and the musculoskeletal system, and helps re-educate the body through the client’s active and passive participation. Structural bodywork in the simplest terms seeks to improve posture by balancing one’s body in gravity. I aim to treat clients as whole individuals rather than as collections of symptoms or dysfunctions, and to bring attention to what is working for people as well as what isn’t. My ultimate goal is to empower clients to achieve wellness on their own via increased self-awareness and movement education. Indeed, my work is rooted in a belief in the transformative power of movement. I have experience working with chronic pain, repetitive stress injuries, and prenatal massage, and I bring to my practice my love of Qigong, rock climbing, and dance.

REVIEWS for my Bodywork services

Willloughby was incredibly thorough and took the time to explain the theory behind the work he does. I left feeling great and that's stayed with me. Look forward to more sessions with him.

I was very impressed with the totality of my experience. It was very natural for me to be in a partnership like experience with my own body and my own conscious awareness of what was occuring step by step. I appreciate the slow approach and the gentle presence Willoughby Cooke brings to his work.

Willoughby has a quiet strength and from the moment you arrive to the end of the session he takes you to another level of existence with his knowledge of what the body, mind and spirit is all about. He has a calm that is genuine and it transfers through his massage. His techniques are soothing, healing and transformative.

This was my first myofascial massage so I have nothing to compare it to, but I was amazed that my posture noticeably changed after only one session! I'm looking forward to more sessions and the changes they will bring.

Willoughby is an incredibly skilled practitioner, but I especially appreciate his ability to adjust our long term treatment plan to address unexpected changes in my body or new things that are showing up that day. I've had more rapid physical changes than with any other modality, and chronic pain is almost gone. I'm very impressed!

In a short amount of time Williougby has helped me bring awareness to my alignment so that I can have intention with how I carry myself throughout the day. Willoughby was patient and mindful when working with me. I loved the bright, clean space and soothingly vibrant music as well. I look forward to future appointments!
