Hello, I’m Willoughby, licensed massage therapist and board certified Structural Integrator. I own Upright Integration, manual therapy bodywork practice. Please note: I no longer use this massage book profile for scheduling or practice management. If you would like to schedule an appointment with me please go directly to my business website and click on the book now tab. http://uprightintegration.com/ Informed from a structural integration perspective I provide therapeutic bodywork that emphasizes myofascial nerve and artery mobilization techniques. Myofascial work primarily focuses on fascia, the connective tissue that encases all the structures of the body. Nerve and artery mobilization focuses on the neurological connections between the spinal cord and the musculoskeletal system, and helps re-educate the body through the client’s active and passive participation. Structural Integration in the simplest terms seeks to improve posture by balancing one’s body in gravity. I aim to treat clients as whole individuals rather than as collections of symptoms or dysfunctions, and to bring attention to what is working for people as well as what isn’t. My ultimate goal is to empower clients to achieve wellness on their own via increased self-awareness and movement education. Indeed, my work is rooted in a belief in the transformative power of movement. I have experience working with chronic pain, repetitive stress injuries, and prenatal massage, and I bring to my practice my love of Qigong, rock climbing, and dance.
