I am a fully qualified massage therapist registered with the Amercian Massage Therapy Association.  I graduated with honors in January of 2012, from the Everest Institute in Tigard, Oregon.  It was an 800-hour program with 120 hours of clinic and hands on experience.  After graduation I chose to further my education by enrolling in several continuing education courses.  I am certified in and have completed an eight hour long hot stone massage course as well as a sixteen hour course of Thai Massage on a table, both taught by Wendee Cleveringa, owner of Northwest Thai Massage.  I also completed a 200-hour Sports Massage program in April 2012, taught by my esteemed instructor, Rod Diehm, a massage therapist of over 20 years.

During my course I learned various techniques in swedish/relaxation, deep tissue, myofascial release, stretching, trigger point therapy, advanced treatment, and Sports Massage, which I incorporate into my massages depending on the needs and preferences of my clients.  Although massage is largely an intuitive occupation I consider knowledge to be a vital aspect.  Having knowledge from multiple modalities and areas of thought allows me to treat my clients more skillfully.

I have been enthusiastic in my dedication to full-time work as a licensed massage therapist. I truly believe that the act of helping one person is the first step towards helping all people.  I believe strongly in an integrated approach to health care and that to treat a client you have to respectfully treat their body, mind, and spirit.
