In 2004 and 2008, I worked with National Football League players looking to increase their longevity in the game. I was fortunate to teach and manage the massage therapy program at Everest College for 7 years. I have massage therapy graduates who are successful massage therapists loving what they do. Recently, my practice included doing a one year contract at Google. I worked with high tech industry clients who suffer from Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, Repetitive Strain Injury, Carpal Tunnel, Low Back Pain, and High Stress. In my practice, I address more than the physical pain and injury. I look at your lifestyle as a means of helping to relieve pain, injury, or even stress.
My massage and bodywork tool belt is full of integrative techniques to help you de-stress or restructure your body. My bodywork care plan for restructuring musculature includes integrative work of Deep Tissue, Neuromuscular Therapy, Myofascial Release, PNF Stretching, and Acute Muscular Restoration. I am looking to help perform your daily activities without experiencing pain. The massage care plan for stress includes Swedish, Acupressure, Reflexology, Aroma Touch Therapy, and Polarity Therapy. This type of work is key in de-stressing the body and maintaining a state of mind, body, spirit well-being. Depending on the condition of your overall health, any of these techniques can be used to restore you to well-being. I want you to feel well, look well, and be well!
The newest segment to my practice is helping people discover the world of whole foods and plant based medicine. I coordinate tours with Whole Food Market for groups interested in understanding why we should eat non-GMO and organic. I am involved with the Green Smoothie Girl movement teaching people how to get 10-15 servings of vegetables and fruit in their diet. Subsequently, I have converted my home to a non-chemical non-synthetic home using doTERRA essential oils for cleaning, aromatherapy, and plant-based medicine. I teach classes on how to make your own cleaning products, teas using essential oils, and how to replace your current medicine cabinet with plant-based medicine. Total Wellness!!!
Why did I become a massage therapist health educator? My mother suffered from numerous strokes before she died. I watched her lose her will to live and fight for her life. I did not think that I would be on the same unhealthy destructive road, but I was quickly on it. In 2011, I turned my life around by adopting eating whole foods and getting some movement in my lifestyle. I decided to move towards a career as a full time massage therapist health educator. I no longer suffer from the stress of working in a corporate society. I still cannot believe how much stress I carried in my life. Now, I have time to do my favorite things like spending time with friends, walking on the beach, hiking on the trails in Pleasanton, and participating in 5K races. I AM LIVING MY BEST LIFE WELL!
