I have been giving back and shoulder rubs since high school days, all the while people telling me I have a good touch. So for years I only thought about going to school for massage. After finishing a Theatre Education degree and unable to find a teaching job due to the decline of Arts funding in schools, I began working various jobs to find another "right fit". My best friend and roommate at the time was starting her career in the spa industry. Over the years I watched as the mentality of the business seeped into her personal life and I saw a wonderful transformation into a better way of living. Then in 2011 my mother was in a very bad car accident, after many surgeries and mending of broken bones she was ready to start rehabilitation. After not being able to bear weight on either legs she had to learn how to walk again. She said that with water exercises and massage she was able to gain mobility and quality of life. Massage helped ease the pain and stiffness in her muscles to allowed her more comfortably while she regained her mobility.
With all of this I finally decided to go to school for massage. When I began the journey I did not think I could finish it, going to school full time as well as working full time took a lot out of me. All the information that was being hurled at me in a short period of time was difficult to digest, there was way more to learn that just how to "rub" someone. Once it was finally done I looked back at all the knowledge I had received and I was ready to take on the world and help people. So I decided to use my new powers for good and created Positive Vibes Massage & Apothecary.
