20 years ago, I embarked on a journey that would not only alter my life but the lives of the 1000s of people and animals that I have touched. I have never regretted my career path. When I look back I can hardly believe it's been so long. It seems like only yesterday I was graduating from massage school in Florida and trying to figure out where my newly learned skills would lead me.
It all began as a way to help my mother. After years of suffering with insomnia and chronic pain, she was finally diagnosed with fibromyalgia. In the mid 90's, the term was relatively new and not much was known about it. She was referred for massage but every practitioner that she went to hurt her so badly that she couldn't go back. I tried some reflexology techniques that I had taken at a local holistic center and the results were amazing. Within the next year, I enrolled in the massage therapist course at the Florida School of Massage in Gainesville, Florida and graduated 6 months later at the top of my class with 858 hours.
Over the years I have strived to perfect my skill of my trade by taking a variety of continuing education classes. I am currently certified in Connective Tissue therapy, Deep Tissue release, Infant massage, Pre-natal massage, Swedish Massage, Spa therapies and animal massage.
To the lay person, this is all mumbo-jumbo. What it translates to is that all this experience allows me to heal what is hurting.
