Relaxation leads to Acceptance

Back in 2014, I got back into my yoga practice because I was feeling overwhelmed and stressed. Back in 2014, I got back into my yoga practice because I was feeling overwhelmed and stressed. My life had taken many turns that were beyond my control and sent me down a path filled with anxiety and depression. I tried speaking with therapists and taking medication, but nothing helped all that much.

One morning I remembered how I felt by the end of a yoga practice: relaxed, peaceful, calm, so I decided to walk into a yoga studio. Stepping back on my mat then changed my life forever. Feeling less stressed for the first time in years made me realize it wasn’t my circumstances that made me sad but my reactions to them. From there I went on to get several certifications in Yoga, so I continue on the path of education on how to relax the mind and help others.

Becoming a yoga teacher guided me to evolve towards more natural methods to help others. Bodywork/massage was a logical evolution. I found touch and the guidance it offered to others to delve deeper into a path of relaxation and facilitation of healing, so I became certified in Thai Yoga Massage.

Thai Yoga Massage then led me to learn more about the wondrous, vast world of Massage Therapy.  Swedish, deep tissue and many other modalities offer my clients more opportunities for self-discovery and paths to healing.

I've dedicated my life to facilitating the natural healing powers people possess to find their path to relaxation and peace. Whether it is a massage, yin yoga or Thai massage, students and clients begin to search within for their source of reducing stress. The power lies within. It’s about self-care, self-discovery and self-compassion and the willingness to accept who we are.

I appreciated her identifying the cause of my knee pain - which wasn’t easy save the culprit was different on each side. She relieved a lot of my discomfort.

Each time I have had a craniosacral session, it’s a different experience. Katy seems to fix me every time without knowing I have particular problem in a certain area.

Katy is great!

Katy is truly a gifted practitioner. I have never felt so relaxed in my entire life. As a nurse during Covid with 3 kids at home I don’t have much time on my hands for self care. An hour with Katy is better than a day at the spa and keeps me feeling energized for days after.
