Hi I'm Sam Jones, owner of Ancient Art Massage.  I'm a Licensed Massage Therapist practicing in Virginia.  I'm a certified Advanced EMT with 25 years of field experience with Norfolk Fire-Rescue.  I have worked as an E.R. Hi I'm Sam Jones, owner of Ancient Art Massage.  I'm a Licensed Massage Therapist practicing in Virginia.  I'm a certified Advanced EMT with 25 years of field experience with Norfolk Fire-Rescue.  I have worked as an E.R. Technician at a level 1 trauma hospital. I also, served 8 years in the United States Coast Guard Reserves, as well.


In my years of studying and practicing emergency medical care, I've studied a more holistic form of medicine on my own.  It has always fascinated me. One day, quite out the blue, I decided to take a leap and go back to school to become a LMT. I haven't stopped taking class since!

I studied Massage Therapy at Centura College, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2019.  I believe in perfecting my art, through continuing education.  I practice Thai Yoga Massage, Table Thai Massage, and Swedish. I follow a lomi lomi, and Esalen form of massage with long slow thoughtful strokes. 

My goal and my deepest hope, is to bring to my clients traditional Eastern healing based on Thai Yoga Massage,  mixed with a Western Philosophy of Swedish Massage. 

Other modalities I offer to my client:  Hot Himalayan Salt Stones massage.  These stone enrich the skin with 84 different minerals.  They exfoliates the skin and they feel amazing.  Tok Sen Massage or (Thai Hammer Massage).  This is a wooden mallet and wooden tools made from a sacred tree that was struck by lightning. In Thailand, it is believed the wood is empowered by the lightning with healing energy.  I use the hammer and tools to Tok or to tap along the Sen line, which are energy channels throughout our bodies. Opening these energy channels allows the energy to flow to the areas of our bodies which need the energy to heal.  Health benefits aside, the light tapping feels amazing! This is the basic healing philosophy of Thai Massage, to open the bodies energy channel and let the body heal itself.  Other tools I use are, Hot Basalt Stones, Cupping, and Aromatherapy.

My goal as a Therapist is to give you an amazing massage in the comfort of your home. To open the energy channels so your body can begin to heal itself, and to give your body the stretch your muscle have been aching for. My continuing education has been focused on mastering Thai Massage. In July 2021, I will attend a Thai Master Class. I have classes in Thai Massage, Thai Foot Massage, and Table Thai. Other classes I have attended are Forearm Fusion, and Intro to Lymphatic Drainage.
