Clients ask me all the time "Why did you decide to become a Massage therapist?" I'd have to say it was that moment when I realized my chronic neck pain had diminished, through the help of a Massage therapist. Clients ask me all the time "Why did you decide to become a Massage therapist?" I'd have to say it was that moment when I realized my chronic neck pain had diminished, through the help of a Massage therapist. She gently manipulated the muscles that were causing such havoc and I was amazed that this therapy didn't hurt at all. I wanted to help people with pain management, so I went on to enroll in Massage school, graduating in 2007.

Most would say my technique is gentle, nurturing even. My first experience on a Massage table was proof that therapeutic work could be done with ease, causing no secondary pain the next day. My goal is simple: Decrease pain, increase relaxation. That said, I tend to blend relaxation with a therapeutic style so that the body isn't "guarded" during the session.

Another question I hear regularly is "Do you get massages also?" My answer to this is "Absolutely!" One of the greatest benefits in receiving massage from other therapists is experiencing the diversity that's out there in this field.  It makes for better therapists as well, because we tend to pick up little techniques along the way that translate into a better massage for you (the client).

When I'm not giving (or receiving) massage, I'm checking out music concerts or catching a new tv series on Netflix. I could spend hours at Barnes & Noble, (although I'm slowly starting to dabble with ebooks as well.) Given the amount of technology available to us, I still carry around a calendar and make lists the old-fashioned way, with pen and paper. My favorite season would have to be Fall, with the change of colors on the leaves. I do have a cat, which I'm mentioning in case you are sensitive/allergic. (Try as I may to leave them behind, a stray cat hair manages to hike a ride on a sleeve or pant leg). surprised

Barb worked on my pretty hard, which is what I wanted. I appreciated her verbal check-ins when she found a spot that was especially tender or tense. My neck and back have felt better since she worked on me. Thank you!

This was my first experience with a massage and I was a bit cautious. I am not used to allowing people inside my personal space let alone touching me. Barb was professional yet warm. She was very thorough in explaining anything I asked about and quickly put me at ease. The room was a bit too warm for my taste but I tend to run on the warmer side so it is a personal preference. I arrived tired stressed and nervous, I left relaxed smiling and feeling energized.

Barb's massages are both relaxing and very therapeutic at the same time. I left feeling so much better than when I walked in. I had severe low back pain (couldn't bend over to pick up my son severe) and I left able to bend. What a difference 90 minutes can make!

Barb is a wonderful Massage therapist. She was very personal and kept me informed every step of the experience. I have had several professional massages, but this is the best one that I have received. I wish I would have requested a longer session with her. She asked me what areas would I like to focus on and she worked those areas very well. Her work area is very clean. I will be back in the near future
