Massage therapy
Myofascial Release is a form of soft tissue therapy intended to eliminate pain, increase range of motion, and rebalance the entire body. It does this by using massage techniques to stretch the fascia and release the bonds that exist between the fascia, muscles and bones. Fascia is the connective tissue that connects and covers all muscles, organs, and skeletal structures of the body. Direct myofascial release is sometimes known as deep tissue work. Indirect release applies light pressure and gently stretches the fascia; this allows for increased blood circulation and relief from pain.
Sports Massage is a type of massage designed for highly active people who engage in athletics. Engaging in sports is harsh on the body and can often lead to injuries in both the short and long term. Sports Massage enhances performance and prolongs a sports career by helping to prevent injury, reduce pains and swelling in the body, relax the mind, increase flexibility, and dramatically improve recovery rates. Sports Massage is also highly effective in aiding the rapid recovery of an athlete from an injury by encouraging greater kinesthetic awareness and in turn promoting the body's natural immune function.
Polarity Therapy is a type of bodywork which is focused on the energy fields of the body, rather than the physical body itself. This type of body work is also called energy work, because the practitioner attempts to adjust the skewed energy fields of the body and bring them into balance. During a polarity therapy session, the therapist and client usually work together in a very calm, relaxed environment.
Reiki is a Japanese form of energy work that cleanses and balances the energy system in the body. As a result, the body's natural self-healing mechanisms strengthen, helping to establish optimum health. During a session, I work directly with your energy field to remove blockages, detoxify your system, and restore your vital life force energy. Reiki utilizes a gentle laying on of hands to conduct the necessary energy force between us. The benefits of Reiki range from the release of habitual mental/emotional stress to alleviating chronic pain.
Shamanism is the oldest spiritual practice known to humankind. This ancient and powerful path teaches us that everything in existence is alive and has a spirit. We are part of Nature , not standing outside of it. Through the web of life we are connected to all life on all levels; Spiritually, Biologically, Ecologically and Socially. We can contact and relate to all there is through this web. We know from the archaeological evidence that shamanism has been practiced Worldwide; in parts of Asia, Siberia, Europe, Africa, Australia, Greenland and native North, Central and South America for at least 40,000 years. (Many anthropologists believe that the practice dates back over 100,000 years.) Every culture has their own traditions and ways of contacting, working with the spirits and the spiritual aspects of Nature itself. The cross cultural experiences of this unseen realm are surprisingly similar the world over… And the most amazing thing is that shamanism is still practiced worldwide today. A practice that dates back so far and is still practiced today must be potent. Shamanism is for skeptics! It is 100% experiential. You are not asked to believe anything or to take anything on faith. Only your own direct experience will guide you. There is no dogma or need for spiritual middlemen. This is a practical results based Spiritual discipline. Shamanism is not a Religion. It is a personal spiritual practice grounded in direct communication with the divine. This is a path of personal Direct Revelation. There are no intermediaries that stand between the helping spirits and each of us. We all can choose to access the healing, guidance and wisdom of the compassionate helping Spirits. The word “shaman” comes from the Evenki peoples, a Tungusic tribe in Siberia. In Shamanic cultures it has evolved to mean “one who sees in the dark” or “one who knows”, reflecting the extraordinary spiritual abilities and talents as an intermediary between their peoples and the Spirit worlds. A shaman is a man or woman who interacts directly with spirits to address the spiritual aspects of illness, perform soul retrievals, divine information, help the spirits of deceased people cross over, and perform a variety of ceremonies for the community. Shamans have taken on many roles in tribal communities acting as healers, doctors, priests, psychotherapists, mystics, dreamers and storytellers. Shamanic Journeying consists of me bringing you to a trance like state with the use of a drum and other instruments as well as chanting. We will be guided through a blissful state as we work on bringing to LIGHT what ever it is that you may be seeking. A typical shamanic healing session last about 90 minutes. It will consists of before and after treatment information about the session.
Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to make sure you don't get too uncomfortable. Keep in mind that soreness is pretty common after the treatment, and that plenty of water should be ingested to aid with the flushing and removal of toxins that will have been released from the deep tissue during the session.
Trigger Point Therapy is a style of bodywork that focuses on stimulating and releasing "trigger points" in your body. Trigger points are tender areas of tension similar to acupressure points, except they occur in the belly of the muscle rather than along the energy pathways of the body. These "knots" are built up throughout a person's life due to physical, mental, and/or emotional stress. During a session, focused pressure is applied through a variety of techniques order to release your trigger points. This process can be quite painful at times, yet the effects are lasting and profoundly transformative.
