Therapeutic Touch

My specialty and true love is Deep Tissue work. I make sure to warm any soft tissue layer by layer to allow pressure with deep tissue work to be more comfortable and effective. As a rule of thumb, deep tissue work is described by my clients as ‘owww, but don’t stop’. Close communication with those receiving is the norm and I always ask them to let me know if the pressure might be too much in an area. Hydration is vital to flush lactic acid out of the muscles and water will always be offered before the person leaves. Failure to properly hydrate with any form of bodywork can cause heightened muscle soreness. I make sure to stress with people that I have the ability to do Deep Tissue but can tone it down to much lighter pressure if that is requested. In 2001, I became certified in Pregnancy Massage by Elaine Stillerman. This is a more relaxing session that has mom lying face down all cozy on a system of body cushions. Very popular with every trimester but 99% of the time, in the last trimester especially, mom chooses to stay face down because there is so much relief to the hips and low back just from the position. I maintained an office in Connecticut for 16 years before my move to Arizona. I worked with Touch of Healing for the last 5 years here in Arizona recently leaving to pursue increased out-calls and a more medical atmosphere working with Chiropractors and their clientele. This has been 21 years and counting with a job I absolutely love. It’s such a wonderful feeling to see and hear how giving has made a difference in peoples lives whether it wipes away a stressful day or retrains nagging muscle trauma to contrains and heal appropriately.
