Kara Ford, has set down roots with the intention of staying put and connected to the community her business operates within. Kara knew she would be a Licensed Massage Therapist before there was a licensure available. At 12-years-old, Dr. John Brimhall held her hands in his and told her she had healing hands, and she believed him. She has spent her life adding as many modalities of healing to her menu and is excited to share them with people seeking relief, reprieve, and healing. After successfully running her own practice for over 20 years, she realized expansion was inevitable and necessary. With hundreds of returning clients with different needs, Kara understood that she needed to offer more than Massage Therapy to provide the type of emotional and energetic work people were requesting. This required a larger space and hiring additional therapists to the team. Upward Light Healing is a space where people can feel safe being vulnerable, can surrender to healing experiences, and feel welcome no matter who they are or how they are hurting. Whether providing Reiki, Cranial Unwinding, or Hot Stone Massage, Kara intuitively finds the places that need the most attention for the mind/body/spirit to work in unison. Outside of the Wellness Center, Kara can be found with her sons, nephews & nieces, as well her Airedale Terrier, Dory, down by the river in search of wild horses or with the people she loves, dancing to live music.
