Acupressure

Acupressure is a very powerful tool used to help ease many aliments within the body. I tend to use this therapy more with pregnant mommies that would like to help their body ready for delivery.

Craniosacral Therapy

This therapy has been proven to help: Migraines and Headaches Chronic Neck and Back Pain Autism Stress and Tension-Related Disorders Motor-Coordination Impairments Infant and Childhood Disorders Brain and Spinal Cord Injuries Chronic Fatigue Fibromyalgia TMJ Syndrome Scoliosis Central Nervous System Disorders Learning Disabilities ADD/ADHD Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Orthopedic Problems And Many Other Conditions

Pregnancy

I have taken extensive classes for prenatal, L&D, and postpartum massage. The benefits are GRAND!!! "Studies indicate that massage therapy performed during pregnancy can reduce anxiety, decrease symptoms of depression, relieve muscle aches and joint pains, and improve labor outcomes and newborn health. Massage therapy addresses different needs through varying techniques, one of which is called Swedish Massage, which aims to relax muscle tension and improve lymphatic and blood circulation through mild pressure applied to the muscle groups of the body. Swedish Massage is the recommended prenatal massage method during pregnancy because it addresses many common discomforts associated with the skeletal and circulatory changes brought on by hormone shifts during pregnancy." Zero Balancing

Developed by Fritz Smith, MD in the early 1970s, Zero Balancing is a powerful body-mind therapy that teaches skilled touch to bring balance to body structure and energy. A session typically lasts 30 to 45 minutes and is offered through clothing. The practitioner uses finger pressure and gentle traction on areas of tension in the bones, joints and soft tissue to create fulcrums, or points of balance, around which the body can relax and reorganize. By addressing the deepest and densest tissues of the body along with soft tissue and energy fields, Zero Balancing helps to clear chronic tension and blocks in the body’s energy flow. ZB has been shown to reduce stress, amplify vitality and promote better postural alignment.

Lymphatic Drainage

MLD is a potent adjunct in cleansing the body’s tissues of metabolic wastes, excess water, bacteria, large protein molecules and toxins; this includes long term use medications, anesthesia in post surgery recovery, and harmful or poisonous substances that have entered the body through exposure or ingestion. Scientific studies have proven that the immune system is supported and even boosted as a result of receiving regular MLD treatments. A sluggish lymphatic system increases the chance of chronic illness and disease. MLD is very effective in countering the body’s natural inflammatory response following soft tissue trauma. These include sprains, fractures, orthopaedic surgeries and replacements, and orthodontal surgery. As a basic rule, the less swelling that occurs, the less bruising and pain will subsequently follow. If received in a timely manner, MLD can dramatically shorten the route to recovery. Lymph drainage is gentle, rhythmical, and soothes the nervous system. I invite you to treat yourself to seasonal MLD treatments as a way of exercising your immune system.

Swedish

Swedish massage is the most popular type of massage in the United States. It involves the use of hands, forearms or elbows to manipulate the superficial layers of the muscles to improve mental and physical health. Active or passive movement of the joints may also be part of the massage. The benefits of Swedish massage include increased blood circulation, mental and physical relaxation , decreased stress and muscle tension, and improved range of motion..

Oncology Massage

Oncology massage is the modification of existing massage therapy techniques in order to safely work with complications of cancer and cancer treatment. I have taking Gayle MacDonald's course, "Massage for People Living With Cancer", taken the NCBTMB's speciality exam to be recognized as an Oncology Massage Therapist. I am a member of Society for Oncology Massage and Oncology Massage Alliance. I feel very comfortable making the proper modifications for the many side effects one has to endure while living with cancer.

Postpartum Massage

Postpartum massage has been shown to be effective for a quicker recovery and better health. Integration of maternal bodywork may add welcome value to your healing journey and transition to motherhood.
