This quote has resonated with me since I first encountered many years ago, and it was around the same time that I knew I wanted to pursue my education in massage therapy and the healing arts. I started my journey in 2014 at the Body Therapy Institute in Silk Hope, North Carolina – considered one of the leading schools in massage therapy, the rigorous curriculum is also incredibly well-rounded, covering classic modalities and approaches to traditional massage, while also exploring the newest techniques and the latest industry research.
In the past year, I have worked in both a day spa environment and in private practice. I have had the good fortune of meeting a wide variety of clients through my other interests, such as martial arts, dance, and travel. My primary modalities include Swedish, Deep Tissue, Myofascial Release, and Trigger Point Therapy, however, I am presently studying Reflexology, Energy Work, and Somatic Touch, and look forward to being able to offer these alongside my current skill set.
I made the decision to start a private practice in order to provide affordable, comprehensive sessions to my clients. I found that this was very challenging to accomplish within the confines of a day spa. Sessions are pressed for time, often at the expense of both the therapist and the client, since a thorough consultation and follow up after the session cannot feasibly take place within such a limited time frame. The high cost of sessions can also prevent some clients from receiving the consistent work they need.
My goal through Leonine Bodywork and Massage Therapy is to offer my knowledge and services in the form of reasonably priced sessions, designed to allow for optimized effectiveness and promotion of long-term benefit from the work you receive. I will combine massage techniques to customize a unique session for you as an individual, based on your health history, wellness goals, and present state of being. As my massage therapy practice grows, so will my ability to provide you with more varieties of bodywork.
Thank you for taking the time to visit. I look forward to meeting you when you are ready to schedule your first session with me!
