Mission Statement:

 

Douw Steyn moved to the United States in 1996 and settled in the Bay Area two years later. He decided at a mature age to pursue a lifelong dream to study Massage Therapy. He comes from a family whose motto in life has always been to improve the quality of life of those around them. His late mother was a revered doctor in physiotherapy in South Africa and his sister currently has a practice in alternative medicine in the United Kingdom.

Douw believes that massage therapy is the art of touch to enable healing of the whole person – spirit, mind (emotions) and body. He uses massage therapy to treat a variety of health conditions, e.g.

• Stress-related conditions
• Back pain
• Headaches and migraines
• Inflammatory conditions such as arthritis and tendinitis
• Muscle and related conditions such as spasms, strains and sprains
• Repetitive strain injury, such as carpal tunnel syndrome
• Circulatory and respiratory problems
• Post-injury and post-surgical rehabilitation

Douw graduated from Carrington College California, and was on both the Dean’s list and President’s list. He is a member of American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) and furthered his studies in Essential Lymphatic Performance and Ampuku Psoas Release through the CA Redwood Empire Unit of AMTA.
