My interest in holistic health and wellness began early on. I learned Southeast Asian folk remedies from my mother as a child, and began a meditation practice while in my teens. After graduating from The Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, I found a community for meditation with The Mindfulness Meditation Group (MMG) of the Unitarian Church of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
Later, I moved to Massachusetts, and became certified to teach hatha yoga from Finding Inner Peace/BYoga in Melrose. This led to my journey in mind-body studies like Reiki, Thai Yoga Bodywork and Yin Yoga. After these trainings, I felt ready to embrace my calling as a massage therapist, and I completed the 750-hour program at Cortiva Institute (formerly MTI, Cambridge) to become a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT).
I truly enjoy my work and the wide variety of clients that I see. Some clients require a sports or injury oriented approach, while others may just be stressed from work and family responsibilities. I also have experience working on expectant mothers and new parents. My most recent training was oncology massage for clients at various stages of cancer treatment. Whatever the need, each client presents a unique set of challenges that require me to think critically and intuitively, thus developing the most appropriate treatment plan.
When I am not massaging, I enjoy listening to local musicians, singing, playing guitar, working out, and spending quality time with my two children.
