As an Athletic Trainer, it is Richard's philosophy to have the best modalities and do one's best to be able to compete with the best. As an Athletic Trainer, it is Richard's philosophy to have the best modalities and do one's best to be able to compete with the best. Richard was a Certified Athletic Trainer through the National Athletic Trainers' Association, and a Licensed Athletic Trainer through the Texas Department of Health. He is also a member of the Greater Houston Athletic Trainers' Society, the North Texas Athletic Trainers' Society and the Texas Society of Sports Medicine. Richard has also served as the Director of SWATA's Internet Web Site as well as NATA District Six Member to the NATA's Webmaster Advisory Group and the NATA's Educational Multimedia Committee. 

Richard also volunteered his time and knowledge to the cowboys that ride at the Mesquite Championship Rodeo for three years he was selected as the Justin Sports Medicine Healer of the year in 2004 for the Mesquite Championship Rodeo.  He is a member of the Justin Sport Medicine Team, and enjoys giving to athletes that truly appreciate the help that the athletic trainers provide.

Richard was selected as the Texas High School All-Star Baseball Athletic Trainer represented the North All Stars in June of 2003.  The game was played in Round Rock, Texas. 

Richard is a graduate of Lenape Regional High School, located in Medford, New Jersey. While at Lenape, Richard played football and received his share of injuries which has helped him understand what an athlete deals with during an injury.

Richard then graduated from Baylor University in Waco, Texas with a BS Ed. degree, where he learned the trade from T. C. "Skip" Cox and Mike Sims. After graduation he has worked in Texas high schools and with a team in the World League of American Football, the Raleigh-Durham Skyhawks. Former NFL GREAT, Roman Gabriel was the Head Coach of the Skyhawks and he taught Richard that working long hours won't shorten you life, but from working few hours just might shorten you career.

Being the son of Otho Davis, A.T.C., Richard has been around athletic training all of his life. He would play with tape and pre-wrap instead of Hot Wheels. His father, Otho Davis, former Executive Director of the NATA, hadbeen in the NFL from1971 to 1999 with the Baltimore Colts and the Philadelphia Eagles. When Richard was a boy, he and his brothers would make the notebooks for the NATA meetings in the living room of their home.

Otho Davis at his favorite place in the World, Under a Pecan Tree in Elgin Texas Richard also enjoys watching baseball, where he believes we should teach our youth how to score a ball game. The best team to break your heart is his favorite, the Boston Red Sox. He also enjoys NASCAR, and rooting for Jeff GordonHe enjoys playing dominoes, especially 42. Curtis Cameron has a great dominoes softwareready to download that can be played over the Internet called Win42. Richard also enjoys listening to Cory MorrowHouston MarchmanOwen TempleJack IngramCharlie RobisonBruce RobisonRobert Earl Keen, Jr and Pat Green.

Richard enjoys golf, fishing, hunting, playing the guitar, computing when the time allows, and believing in goals and achieving your dreams.
