Al Poliarco was born in the Philippines. He is a graduate of the East West Healing Arts Institute Asian Bodywork and Therapeutic Massage Program in Madison. Al is also a Certified Practitioner of the Original Deepfeet Bar Therapy (also known as Ashiatsu) and trained in Ashi Thai Massage. Al practice Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga and is registered with Yoga Alliance as a RYT 200 - HR.

Al named his found passion for bodywork Barefoot Hands. He relates the word barefoot to being mindfully grounded and present, as he incorporates artful techniques during his practice. His practice style emphasizes a relaxed, caring and attentive attitude. Guided with his great interest in the junction of body, mind, and spirit, Al honors their connection in his massage and yoga practice. He recognizes that healing comes through addressing the whole self.

Al is trained in many bodywork technique such as, Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Hot Stone Massage, Reflexology, Aroma Therapy, Tui Na, Guasha, Cupping, Thai Massage, Ashi Thai (contemporary style and done on the massage table), and more. He named his signature massage, Sinamay (fusion of all his techniques). Sinamay means loosely and artfully woven in Filipino.

Madison is home for Al. His passion to serve others budded from his involvement in social justice grassroots community organizing work in the Philippines. It continue to developed from years of work in the field of social services serving adults with developmental disabilities and traumatic brain injuries since he have immigrated in the US. Al values mindful living and compassion for all beings.
