A little about me: I have my bachelor's degree from Northern Michigan University in Sport Science, once I finished with my degree I continued my education by attending massage therapy school at Ann Arbor Institute for Massage Therapy.  I am now a licensed massage therapist and am certified in myofascial release.  I am also trained in; neuro muscular therapy, sports massage, thai massage and other modalities.
I am an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys mountain biking, rock climbing, hiking, kayaking, camping, and riding my motorcycle (not necessarily in that order).  I believe that being active and living healthy play a large role in the happiness we experience in life.  I encourage everyone to do what you love and love what you do!
Why I do what I do:  I became interested in massage therapy so that I could help people. Massage is a great source of pain and stress relief and that is my goal as a therapist. I want you to come see me and leave feeling better.
It is important to be proactive in your own health. The best way to do that is to do everything you can to stay healthy; being active and eating healthy are a great place to start! My role as a massage therapist is to keep you doing what you love, so book an appointment! - See more at: https://www.massagebook.com/profiles/view/731346/1?preview=1#about/description-show

REVIEWS for my Bodywork services

Erika is an excelent massage therapist. She is trained in advanced massage therapy techniques such as neuromuscular therapy and myomassagology. She has a great sense for finding pain points and helping to give you an understanding of why certain repetitve motions can result in injury and muscle pain. She also has a pleasant disposition, the location is easy to get to, and the space is homey and clean.

Everything was very nice.

I've been training for a marathon and logging more miles than I had ever done in over 10 years after a hamstring injury. Trying to be smarter with training and making sure I implement good PT before injury. Erika's AIS session did the trick and kept me on the training track.

Honestly, Erika's skill level was more than I could have ever expected. The massage she gave me was tailored to some very specific running-related pain. I was very concerned that I would not be able to complete my 'long run' the following day-- and not only did I complete it- I actually felt great afterwards. I am still shocked at how this could be! The day after my long run some of the pain has resurfaced (thought not in the specific area worked on by Erika) and I hoping to get in one more session w her before my 1/2 marathon this weekend. Thank you thank you thank you Ericka- in just one session you have completely transformed my understanding of what Is possible regarding pain management/rehabilitation through massage. And I am truly grateful! Hope to see you downtown next weekend!! And hopefully one more time in your office;)

Erika is very knowledgable and intuitive. She spent a considerable amount of time listening to what brought me in and what I was looking to gain from the visit before the massage even began. I came in with a specific injury that my doctor recommended medical massage as a pain management strategy and Erika delivered. She was able to begin to alleviate some of the areas of my body that have taken the brunt of over-compensating for my injury. The office is clean and pleasant, she is very professional and makes you feel like she has all the time in the world for you.

The noise and smells could have produced a more tranquil environment.

Went there in pain which was affecting my training. Erika took the time to understand how this happened and not only worked on the problem spot but gave stretches to help before my next visit.
