Imuya McDaniel was born and raised in rural Alaska as the daughter of two prominent fishermen.  Following the footsteps of her parents, she became a fisherman, as well.  The injuries both she and others incurred while fishing inspired her to seek education in natural healing and massage.  This search led her to attend East West College of the Healing Arts, completing an 800 hour curriculum in massage which she graduated from in 2013.

Imuya’s specialties include pre- and postnatal massage, myofascial release, deep tissue and Swedish relaxation massage, as well as CranioSacral techniques.  She has completed a 32-hour certificate program in pre- and perinatal massage therapy.  Imuya has also studied electives introducing Structural Integration which she incorporates into her practice.

Imuya’s intention in practice is to meet her client’s unique and individual wants and needs, and to assist and inspire clients along their unique life journey.  Her love of physical, spiritual and emotional growth is one of the main reasons she loves working with prenatal clients, as their life is growing, shifting and changing in many ways.

Imuya received her Bachelors in Arts in Music in 2012 from the University of Alaska Fairbanks.  Her studies in music and her observations of its healing properties are part of what inspired her to look into the healing arts and alternative medicines.  Imuya looks forward to continuing her studies of Structural Integration and CranioSacral Therapy in the future as she continues to expand her skills and practice.
