Taking care of yourself is one of the most important, and often most neglected tasks in our society. Everywhere I look I see people who are trying to "stay ahead of the game," be it in work, academically or otherwise. As a society, we seem to adhere to the "no pain, no gain" philosophy: i.e. If I just push myself harder, faster, for longer hours, etc., I will achieve my goals and the lifestyle I desire. However, this way of living takes its toll on us, both mentally and physically. While we focus on pushing ourselves to achieve our desired results, we often neglect the extremely important factor of self care to balance out the stresses we so continuously push ourselves in. I believe that massage therapy is a vital and viable means of combatting this epidemic. When I get a massage, I relish the opportunity of allowing my mind to take a break. I enjoy feeling the everyday wear and tear on my body release as the tension in my muscles melts away. Come in, and take the opportunity to give back to your body. Take a moment to get that stiff back or crick in your neck all worked out. You will be amazed at the difference it makes!
