In 2006, I sustained 2 car accident injuries, mostly involving whiplash in my neck. During my time of recovery, I found that massage was one of the most effective methods of relief for me. My massage therapist was very knowledgable, and her expertise was influential in my decision to study practicing massage. I realized that massage could be more than just relaxing, it could also be relieving for chronic pain.

During my studies at the Healing Arts Institute in Fort Collins, I learned about the Mind Body connection, and the importance of full body awareness. My education provided me with the tools to develop effective methods to observe, ask relevant questions, and create a solid plan to work with the client to initiate lasting change. I have worked with clients from various backgrounds including; illness, headaches/migraines, injury, surgery, and relaxation. Massage has effective applications for many situations.
My typical massage is more of a deep tissue, healing massage. The kind of massage that makes you want to say "that hurts so good!" I enjoy providing my clients with the deep pressure that really gets into those problem areas, and may make you sore for a day or two afterwards (I often recommend icing, and always suggest increasing your water intake). Although that is my typical modality, I also have a spa background that taught me the importance of light, flowing strokes for encouraging relaxation. My massages are a combination of light flowing strokes for relaxation, and pinpointing problem areas with deep pressure. I have worked specifically, and have been particularly effective with migraine sufferers, and people recovering from shoulder replacement surgery.
I will be practicing in Ocala, FL and surrounding areas. Currently, I only have availability to travel to you on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but my availability will increase in the near future.

A little bit about me: I really enjoy traveling to tropical destinations. Snorkeling is pretty much my favorite activity on Earth. I care about the planet, and animals of all shapes and sizes.  I have a new hobby every week. My garden is a constant project. My eventual goal is to own my own retreat where I grow and cook food for my own organic restaurant. Yes, I'm a little bit of a hippie.
Massage doesn't feel like a job for me, but rather, a purpose. My clients mean the world to me, and I am truly invested in their well-being and healing process.
I would love to work with you and help you begin your path to healing and relaxation!

Massage Heights, Centerra

During my time working for the spa at Massage Heights, I gained an understanding of how to create a relaxing spa environment. It was also essential in developing my unique style of massage. My education encouraged deep tissue, trigger point work, while my experience at the spa focused more on giving a relaxing, and calming massage. During my training, I was shown how to incorporate hot stones into a massage, and use them as tools to warm the muscles, and be able to work more deeply. This experience has provided me with the necessary tools to help clients relax, but also provide a lasting, effective massage.
