After many years in corporate sales and customer service management, Lisa chose to pursue a new career in Massage Therapy and attended the prestigious Massage Therapy Institute of CO in 2005. She graduated with honors from a robust 1000 hour program and was invited to be a teaching assistant. After 9 years of private practice, Lisa massaged in a clinical chiropractic setting for 5 years in Denver and past 2 years in spa/hot springs settings . Lisa is trained in Swedish, Deep Tissue, Myofascial Release, Sports Massage, Neuro-Muscular Trigger Point Therapy, T-Bar (deepest pressure - refined trigger point therapy), Structural Realignment, Pre & Post-Natal, as well as Reflexology. Additionally, she completed a Nursing Assistant program at Emily Griffiths in Denver, CO prior to attending massage school. So, she is quite comfortable serving a wide range of clients challenged with spinal cord injury, amputated limbs, and various other ailments. Lisa has experience massaging individuals dealing with stressful life situations such as a recent diagnosis, death, divorce, and or surgery.
She received her first professional therapeutic massage as a result of a weather-related rollover auto accident in 1999 that totaled her Jeep and caused severe 360-degree whiplash to her cervical spine. A few years later, she was diagnosed with PTSD, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and Depression while working for a mutual fund company during the 9/11 tragedy. Lisa is passionate about helping others realize the profound healing power of massage and knows firsthand how massage helped her heal from physical, mental and emotional pain. Lisa was a mountain rescue volunteer for 7 years in NM and has an athletic background in volleyball, softball, skiing, hiking, rock climbing, rollerblading, mountain biking, scuba diving, & yoga. She loves science, spirituality, documentaries, music, travel, and nature!
