Motion Therapist, Fascial Stretch Specialist, Lifestrech™ Instructor, Certified Massage Therapist

I consider myself a Motion Therapist.  Because a body in motion stays in motion is not just a saying, but a way of life in my opinion.  There are lots of people out there trying to stay in motion and I am one who helps them do so.  I do this through several modalities that I am educated, trained and certified in. I consider myself a Motion Therapist.  Because a body in motion stays in motion is not just a saying, but a way of life in my opinion.  There are lots of people out there trying to stay in motion and I am one who helps them do so.  I do this through several modalities that I am educated, trained and certified in. Chief among them is Fascial Stretch Therapy™, or FST™ for short; a very specialized and unique form of science and table based assisted stretching.  Being one of less than 400 in the WORLD certified at my level, I am very fortunate and grateful to be able to offer this amazing therapy to help my clients with their chronic pain, their flexibility and mobility, among others.

I’m also a Certified Massage Therapist, graduating from massage school in 2013. Having extensive massage training and holding numerous certifications allows me a wider knowledge base and many extra tools that compliment my elite specialty in FST™.  Included in those tools and knowledge base are certifications in sports, deep tissue and Swedish massage along with trigger point therapy and a special focus on head, neck and shoulders along with some training in myofascial release, cupping and hot stone therapy.

Prior to my move into the bodywork industry I enjoyed a very successful management career in the service industry. Being of service to people is what I’ve always wanted to do and having stayed true to professionalism and customer/client service above all else has rewarded me with a 30-year career of helping others.

In my personal life, I am married and the father of two very lazy cats.  While we’ve always had cats, we’ve both had puppy fever for quite a while now.  Beyond that, I spend time trying to keep my own body in motion, so that I can help others do the same. And at times, I get to dabble in my first love…drums and music.  I’ve been playing drums since I was 4 and while life has not provided many chances to enjoy that in recent years, the love of doing so is still there and the opportunity will certainly come back around again at some point.

Deep Tissue

This certification in October of 2014 allowed me to add a valuable tool to my treatments and I've spent the last four years using it most everyday. Whether it be a full deep tissue massage session, or working in some deep tissue as needed to my FST sessions. The training included deep tissue techniques for sciatic pain treatment, headache prevention and treatment; cupping techniques and joint mobilization techniques.

Sports Massage

Taking this certification in May 2015 gave me a further knowledge in injury prevention and the use of sports massage techniques for trigger point therapy, strain counterstrain methods, PNF stretching, cryotherapy and reciprocal inhibition techniques for muscle cramp relief. Since then this knowledge along with others, has served me well working with numerous professional and amateur athletes. Including athletes from the NFL, the NBA, those trained in MMA and strongman competitions to name a few. I've also worked the Washington Redskins 5k run and helped participants of the Marine Corp. Marathon in 2016 and 2018.

REVIEWS for my Bodywork services

This was an absolutely amazing massage. I felt like I was about to fall asleep from relaxation at times to feeling like I had never felt as relaxed in my life. Incredible job!

I am 74 years, have been fairly active most of my life: recreational walking, hiking, backpacking, swimming, jogging, cross-country skiing, white water paddling solo canoe, some kayaking. The last few years I have been relatively inactive, and my body started telling me it was not happy. Less endurance, less strength, less motivation to be active because my body was out of shape. I needed to do something about this, and six months ago I found Rob and fascia stretching. I have been seeing him approximately every other week since then, and I am amazed at how much better I feel. First, he worked on my hips, way less flexible after sitting around too much, which impacted my walking comfort. Then on my neck, shoulders and arms, which were stiff and tight, causing headaches, probably partly because I never stretched enough when paddling. I have learned so much about muscles, fascia, and how to stretch correctly (and gently, for consistent progress). I feel fortunate for having found Rob, and grateful to him for helping me to feel better. My mental state has improved along with my physical ability, and I will move into my later years, with Rob’s continued help, with more confidence in my body’s performance.

I've always been into stretching, but Rob takes it to a whole different level. He customizes his sessions to exactly what I need. The most amazing part to me is how euphoric I feel after each session with Rob. Truly incredible! Keith R.

Rob thought of everything. He kept the room warm, had warm towels, calming music, very relaxing and comfortable environment. He was very knowledgeable and explained clearly what fascial stretching would do to help releave my back pain. Since my visit, my pain has decreased noticeably and I will definitely make another visit soon. I highly recommend him!

I have tried lots of methods (over 12 years) to alleviate my back pain (diagnosed as 'myofascial pain' by sports medicine doctors) including physical therapy, chiropractic, acupuncture, yoga, and deep-tissue massage with minimal success. Rob's skill and insight into resolving body issues with both stretching and bodywork has helped me to increase my activity level and length of time I can go feeling pain that limits my daily life and activity. Rob is great and I would recommend his stretch sessions anyone who is looking for ways to reduce pain, move better or just relax!

I always feel better after a session with Rob. I get both a sort-of quick fix and longer term gains. He's progressively improved my flexibility and decreased pain that I may have hoped for but not necessarily expected. He's friendly and professional, and I learn a lot about my body and how it works from him. If you get the chance - see Rob for fascial stretch or massage work, you'll be glad you did.

Although I have gotten benefits from years of massage and yoga, it was Rob and Fascial Stretch therapy that really corrected long term, underlying issues that I was having (headaches and chronic upper body tension due to poor posture and years of working out). I have also noticed a greater range of motion during my fitness routines. I recommend anyone that wants to see long term benefits (as opposed to temporary release from massage) to try Rob’s FST. Also, Rob is the utmost professional. He makes you feel comfortable and is very easy to work with. He truly listens to your needs. His home studio is peaceful and he has the tools to maximize your FST session.

I've been coming to Rob for over a year now. His knowledge and expertise on FSM is impressive and has proven to be very helpful in my rehabilitation from a recent surgery. His home studio is very clean and well appointed. I feel very at ease having my FSM sessions in such a comfortable space. Rob is very professional and personable and I would highly recommend him to anyone looking to begin FSM.

Rob is the consummate professional. He is responsive to my needs, and even worked longer on my shoulders despite going over the appointment time because he said I really needed the work and he works to what the body needs. I've already rebooked and am looking forward to my next stretch and massage combo.
