When I talk to a person about massage I am basically trying to find out how to improve their bodies as much as I can. I started doing massage with the intent to provide healing and relaxation. What I ended up learning is that people usually come because they are in pain or their bodies are not working right due to an injury or alignment. I started developing my massage techniques based off of structural integration, and using that knowledge in a broad sense. I do not do any one type of massage. Every body that I touch is unique and different and should be treated as such. I use Rolfing, Swedish, Strain, Counter Strain, Active Release Therapy (ART), vibration, petrissage, friction and I work with layers of muscle. I don't like to use the word deep tissue because it has come to be a negative thing to some people based off of terrible experiences with untrained therapists. However, it is what I do best. I like to create a plan to get people moving correctly. I have worked in chain Spa places and went on to work in a Physical Therapy office for the last few years. I work best with people in pain that have a mobility issues and can help correct body posture issues with work such as computer workers. I also know that every massage though can change based on emotional issues going on in a persons life as well. Sometimes we just need to zone out and relax too! I can do whatever the body needs at the time it kneads it!
